My favorite Astaire/Rogers film. They're hilarious in their supporting roles, and Smoke Gets In Your Eyes is my favorite of their dances.

Fred Astaire! Ginger Rogers! The fabulous fashions of the 30's in... Paris? Well, the studio lot anyway. Great fun.

hard to handle dance and music, Smoke gets in your eyes & Lovely to look at delightful to know & heaven to kiss ... a combination like this <3

This musical was more story based with other characters than other Fred and Ginger movies. I really did like that ten minute scene of the fashions of the time... it was long and dragged out.

This was quite disappointing. Out of all of the Fred Astaire movies I've seen this is my least favorite. I really didn't like the plot, I don't even think Irene Dunne is attractive- she looked cross-eyed, and Randolph Scott's "Gee that's swell" got tiring. Without Fred and Ginger, I would have given it just one star. Their dancing sequences are as always fantastic but not nearly enough to make up for the rest of the flaws.
