A bit tedious, and somewhat over the top acting on all parts (though Bell is pretty decent as the 'bad' dude), I'd have likely given this movie a 2-2.5 if it weren't for the ending, which was absolutely perfect, so a full point bonus! Murphy's character is bumbling stumbling a bit too many times, almost more mentally than physically, for me to buy into his portrayal after about 15 minutes after Jamie Bell's character appears on the scene. I almost found myself hoping that he'd meet his maker at some point -- whether I was disappointed I'll leave for the viewer.

A not-so-bad thriller that sort of rips off a lot from Nicole Kidman's first film "Dead Calm." A bit too bleak, but a great cast. My, how Billy Elliot has grown up!

Great premise, with a good twist, but flawed in the execution. I seem to be in the minority when i say I think Jamie Bell was miscast; he doesn't have the presence or force of personality required to fully convince in his role. That's not to say he can't act. He obviously can, but someone with a bit more malevolence was probably needed. Despite Cillian and Thande playing blinders, I found the film to be strangely mechanical and uninvolving on occasions, unable to get up a gear when it could have done with it, and i suspect that the rather intrusive and ineffectual music score has a lot to do with it. It's worth watching, but it's a piece of work that i respect, rather than love. Having said that, it's a hell of a calling card for a first-time director!
