It's unfortunately pretty awful. Gary Oldman must have needed money in between being Sirius Black and Commission Gordon because even he delivers an uneven performance. Slow pacing and the Bourne-"wannabe"-style action leaves a lot to be desired. They don't even utilise the Japan-setting to their advantage. Don't bother.

Give them chinese actors all a different kind colour of T-shirt so you can maby remember who is who ! " The Hunt for Black USB-Stick " would also bin a good title ! And Oldman doesn't do much in this movie ...just order people around and shouting ! And near the ending , how long the girl is going to look in Love with John Rain...maybe she is still standing there ! SOMDVD

Asian people would like this film--it's a good mix of action-thriller and restrained-emotions Asian drama. The action-thriller part of the movie (the first 2/3 of film) is executed very well. Good acting, suspenseful plot, and outstanding cinematography. There are multiple storylines of different people/groups looking for a memory stick--it has the potential to quickly get confusing, but is clear, organized well, and logical. The last 1/3 of the film is largely the falling action. It could be left out or truncated, without much loss to the overall storyline. But it's a nice coast down to the conclusion that's quite unique to Asian films.

A 1/2 Japanese 1/2 american movie, some parts just don't translate well.

This movie is a Japanese Bourne Identity. Only you had to read subtitles and it wasn't as nearly action packed. Gary Oldman overacts his part and tried to compensate for the lack of intensity of the movie. They over killed the love story undertone that materialized and then fizzled. It totally derailed the whole movie. I was looking for a good action flick and ended up with disappointment. Skip this movie it isn't worth the time.
