Pokémon the Movie: I Choose You! (2017)

Ash Ketchum wakes up late one morning after having broken his alarm clock in his sleep. He eventually makes it to Professor Oak's lab, but is told that the three starter List of Pokémon (Bulbasaur, Squirtle, and Charmander) have already been taken by Trainers who were on time. However, Oak reveals that he has one more Pokémon, an Electric-type named Pikachu. Despite its volatile and feisty personality, as well as its refusal to get inside a Poké Ball, Ash happily takes Pikachu for his journey.

You know, it was really unexpected and I really enjoyed it. I especially loved the heartfelt moments.

The voice acting is ridiculous, They butchered everyone's childhood with the drastic change. Don't waste your money! GEN. 2 3 4 5 6 in a GEN 1 anime? The new kids might love Pokemon on the big screen. As a veteran and competitor I had to see it and as we all know Nintendo and anime fans will see Pokemon even if it's at skid row on a rainy day. Humble honest opinion! Hope they get the money back from what they spent making it! Oh wait! It's Pokemon it'll sell no matter what! Misty and brock gone not okay! Could had easily got veronica taylor to reprise with no problem. Why butcher it even more... regret spending 13 bucks and waste 2 hours of my life I'll never get back

The Pokémon anime has hardly adhered to the rules of the original games. But Pokémon: I Choose You! goes a step further, ending with a moment so bizarre that my entire theater howled in disbelief.

While it does sort of connect to the source material, Pokemon: I Choose You! is missing the nostalgia of the TV series. Seriously, replacing Misty and Brock? WHY?!
