A good blend of comedy and drama by Catherine Keener and Oliver Platt.

I don't normally have much use for this type of film, I was left cold by this writer/director's "Friends With Money," but the ensemble performs flawlessly (directed to the height of their known capabilities) with a unique script that really has something to say, is moving and funny as hell. I can give it the highest compliment in that I've been thinking and talking about it all the following day now, and would like to see it again.

Despite some misgivings, I enjoyed this. It's a few steps above the typical indie flick; not overtly wacky or preachy. Everything feels very natural and everyone progresses along a believable arc as we stroll into the conclusion. There were a few things left dangling but, I guess that lends it a bit more realism. Not everything gets resolved in a neat little package. That's just how things go sometimes.
