This is a jumpy and surprisingly thoughtful horror. It really made me jump a few times. I was on the edge of my seat with fear at other points. The suspense is not the best although it is done really well. The story is clever and thoughtful (for a horror anyway). It was very reminiscent of The Exorcist (1973), The Thing (1982) and Prince of Darkness (1987) drawing inspiration from all three. It also felt like a Stephen King novel. This reminded me very much of Event Horizon (1997) - they are both films that make you jump a lot but leave little impression. It has a very nineties style but with high production values, this feels bigger than most horror films. The story has excellent pacing and the acting is perfect but there is sadly something missing. This is worth watching for the tense scares that are present and for the idea of an enemy to all other species that learns from them.

Good spooky movie. Only thing I dislike is the explanation and ending-a little too out there but still a very creepy film.

very good horror film not that bad as people say but it has that 90's movie touch you know that its a 90's movie phantoms is very great horror film that is somewhat disturbing phantoms is based on a book by horror author dean koontz well known for the watchers franchise did I also mention that he writes this film and produces it too I mean if a horror film has to be superior to the book it has to be written by the author of the book phantoms is kinda like john carpenter's the thing which brings the throwback touch to it highly recommended.

"Chaos in the flesh..." This is a good action/suspense/horror film. It is highlighted by solid performances by Peter O'Toole and the rest of the cast and a well written story/screenplay by Dean Koontz. These highlights are nicely complemented by what I thought was excellent 'spooky' direction, eerie cinematography, and really scary music, sound effects, and special effects. It reminded me of a few of my favorite horror movies. I give Phantoms a B+, check it out ASAP.
