Entertaining, though not a classic, Tennessee Williams' film adaptation comedy about newlyweds working things out. George Roy Hill directed and Jane Fonda makes one of her early film appearances. The film had a good cast, but the film never really grabbed me.

Isobel Lennart's screenplay adds a few mild embellishments and George Roy Hill has directed in a nice, clear, uncomplicated way.

I shouldn't be surprised since this is Tennessee Williams, but the whole thing is couples fighting and that got boring after a while.

A very entertianing Christmas Comedy, starring Jane Fonda in one of her earliest roles, her performance was wonderful as the dramatic Isabel... haha she did a great job crying and getting all worked up (Yes it might have been overdone, but I found that humorous).

*** (out of four) A strange departure for Tennessee Williams. While the theme of a bantering newleywed couple seems right up his alley, the fast that it is a comedy is a bit odd. Still interesting but a little flat. It is helped by lively performances from Jane Fonda and Tony Franciosa.
