Penelope (1966)

When Penelope gets married to banker James Elcott, she finds him too preoccupied with work to pay much attention to her, so she robs his bank in disguise. Penelope becomes determined to admit to the crime, but neither James nor the police believe her story.

Kleptomaniac lady sets out to prove to her psychiatrist that YES in fact she IS a thief, so she robs her husbands bank. How can that not be watched? How can it? Go watch it.

Predictable of course with a bit of cheese but it's just right that way. Natalie Wood is absolutely HILARIOUS in this! :)

Hiller was always hit and miss with me and this definitely is fuiled under "miss". No matter how hard Ms. Wood tries this is just a bad script done at a time when the studios were trying so hard to be hip. Needless to say, Natalie is gorgeous and Peter Falk as the young police detective is clever but the whole thing never comes together.

Natalie Wood is lovely is this comic misfire directed by Arthur Hiller.
