I loved this one... It was quirky and entertaining and the dialog was dry and comical. Its like everyone was the straight man in an absurd situation. I enjoyed it thoroughly .

Alfred Hitchcock was known for suspense thrillers with high octane drama in between- a dark comedy that today the Coen Brothers would have made. A dead body is found by Jerry Mathers (aka Beaver Cleaver) and Edmund Gwenn (Kris Kringle in "Miracle On 34th Street") separately. Suddenly the question is who killed him. John Forsythe( Charlie from "Charlie's Angels) is an artist who helps those who thought have killed him cover it up, then cover it up, then cover it up. Hilarity ensues. Also, this is Shirley MacLaine's film debut as the widow who wanted him dead. See it, enjoy it, and laugh at the dark humor of it!

A brilliant black comedy in which Hitchcock shows us how absurd and laughable death really is. In Hitchcock's world, an inconvenient corpse should motivate nothing more than some snarky gallows humor, a compelling love story and many excursions into the gorgeous landscape of New England. Forsythe, MacLaine, Gwenn and Natwick turn in the drollest performances of their careers and have rarely been better than they are here.
