A delightfully sweet and humourous film starring Bela Lugosi as a butler who simply wants to serve coffee, and Jack Haley as a cowardly insurance salesman. The humour is steady and helps to tell the story without being in your face about it. The characters are interesting, and the acting enjoyable to watch.

I, too, saw that as part of the aforementioned "50 Horror Classics" set. I think the terms classics is being used a bit too liberally. If this is supposed to be one of the better selections, I don't think I'll make a point of watching many more. This is the second one I watched (see other review for "Invisible Ghost") and I did prefer this one. It had elements of subtle humor that made it more enjoyable.

I typically enjoy old mansion murder stories, but this one put me to sleep for some reason. While there are quite a few amusing bits, the movie just did not quite click with me. I found Jack "Tin Man" Haley's cowardice and buffoonery charming and equally grating on the nerves. Bela Lugosi also appears, but all he does is serve coffee with a wry scowl on his face. The picture quality of this print is so dark I had a hard time seeing anything half the time. I got this as part of Horror Classics, Vol. 13 16-movie set. I will give it another watch when I get that "50 Horror Classics" set even though I would hardly say it qualifies as a classic.

A comical tale of murder, mayhem, and mishaps over a dead body and the attached will. It reminded me a little of It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World. Beware of Lugosi as the butler, when he and the maid makes you coffee.

An unexpected hoot. The TinMan stars as an insurance salesman whos mistakenly hired to guard the dead body of the man he wants to sell life insurance to lol. Typical Haley cowardly humor as well as a funny "coffin in the fishpond" bit. See BLugosi as the bored butler who tries to poison everyone with rat poison, but never quite succeeds lol. Gosh, I luv these old b&w comedies.
