Trish and her six-year-old niece, Patsy, make their living by picking pockets. But when they try to take advantage of holiday shoppers with fat wallets, they run into a little snag - a department store security guard named Bert catches them in the act. The store owner wants them arrested, but decides to wait until Christmas is over. To ensure they don't make a run for it, he entrusts their care to Bert. With jail on the horizon, Trish and Patsy are scared for their future. But as the holiday nears its end, it looks as though a budding romance might just save them after all.

Oh please. Too much cheese even for me, even for a Christmas movie. I could handle the pick pocket thing and the borderline annoying child actress, but what finally did me in was the proposal two days after meeting. Give me a break. I get wanting to be with someone you only just met and seeing potential for the relationship, but marriage? Especially with someone who has obviously lived a bit of a difficult life and would have issues there had not been sufficient time to work through. Maybe I'm way over thinking for this genre, but it just seemed ridiculous and from the scenes shown, there wasn't really anything that made you see why this pair belonged or any development in getting to know each other. Just difficulties, resenting each other, then in love within one scene. Sorry too much.

This is a really cute Christmas movie, not like the usual sad stories that they create.

This movie was really good, and heartwarming. Really fitting for christmas. It was funny and romantic. Has all the good qualities of the 90s, none of the hollywood overdrama thing. A top 10 for winter holidays watch.
