[A] richly evocative and thought-provoking film ...

A sonic and visual treat through one families strength in humanity through tragedy without ever dwelling too long on loss.

Feels like beating up a (blind) puppy criticising this but crikey I found this dull. Maybe the book it more interesting but I found this laboured, a bit poncey if I'm honest and completely un-engaging.

A cinematic and emotional experience like none other. Wouldn't call it a documentary per se, it's more than that. The creators of this exceptional film successfully recreated John Hull's notes on his initial battle and later acceptance and maybe even appriciation of going blind. All of his struggles, ups and downs, even some surprisingly blissful moments he went through, shown in a beautifully artistic way.

This daring re-enactment of one man's going blind is not only successful, but deeply moving and enlightening.
