Josey Aimes starring by the beautiful South African actress Charlize Theron is a woman seeking for economic independence from her abusive and violent husband Hank (Richard Jenkins) in the conservative America in the 1970's. For many years she conceals her secret of being a rape victim by her teacher and alone endures the shame and the misunderstanding from others for carrying and raising up her illegitimate son, Sammy, as a result of the rape. Her inner strength is especially highlighted when she takes a legal action against the sexual harassment both she and her female co-workers experience at work in the male-domineering mining industry. She is an inspiration to show that a real difference can still be made in this pitch-dark fallen world.
