Good historical war film. With old time warrior values you don`t see a lot anymore. It shows the founding of Kazakhstan, where finally the Kazkakh people can live and breed on their ancient homeland. Everyone who has seen Borat should see this movie. But thank god I didn`t watch freaking Borat.

Kazakh president's reponse to Borat... This "epic" movie has one of the most unoriginal and unimaginative screenplays ever, emotionally flat acting and simplistic and cliched narration/dialogues; the film is saved, however, by absolutely gorgeous nature photography and costumes

Although it put me in mind of watching Bruce Wayne play Ghenghis Khan (no kidding, he really did make such a movie), this wasn't as bad as all that. Jason Scott Lee showed some surpising talent. Mark Dacoscos' role on the other hand could have been a little meatier. There's some lovely scenery, some slightly awkward armour moments with overly large helmets and overall, I think this is worth a watch - on a Sunday arvo with beer and chips.

PlutÃ´t bien fait, avec des paysage sublime des grandes steppes et le recit d'une histoire nationale peu connu chez nous. Sinon, on frise parfois le film de propagande finance par le president Nursultan Nazarbayev :-)
