The fact is, Dock Ellis was...complicated. Probably a lot more so than No No makes him out to be.

“No No” performs the valuable service of elevating Ellis’s legacy beyond one game, reminding viewers of a career during which he was almost always, as one observer notes, “a chapter ahead.”

At first a fascinating trip through time to the world champion '71 Pirates, and then a snapshot of race issues, and eventually a powerful and no holds barred testimony of one players' drug abuse leading to its redemptive message.

Much more than a baseball documentary. Full of social commentary and redemption. You will laugh & cry.

What really distinguishes this... is its candid-and surprisingly flippant-treatment of widespread drug use in major league baseball.
