Ninja: Shadow of a Tear (2013)

Fight everyone and trust no one: it's the code of survival practiced by martial-arts master Casey Bowman after his life of domestic bliss is shattered by a savage act of violence. Vowing revenge, the fearless American stealthily tracks the killer from Osaka to Bangkok to Rangoon with the help of a wise and crafty sensei. His only clues: a series of victims whose necks bear the distinctive mark of strangulation by barbed wire. im not a fan of B-movies... but this one is surprisingly entertaining. The story is simple like every b-movies (a dude that is teaching ninja martial-arts in a japaneese dojo has his wife killed and want revenge) the story is simple.. but the action is so well directed and put in most of the movie that you are entertained for the most parts.. (only the acting that is a little hokey like every b-movies.. but thats ok.. you watch b-movies for action or to have fun.. not to have a very good story!

I have long been a fan of Isaac Florentine, for many many years now. His films always aim to grab that feel from the 80's classics of Hong Kong cinema, yet are often marred by weak story lines and silly acting. That said, one thing that always stands out is the fight scenes - and none more so than this awesome sequel, Ninja: Shadow Of A Tear! I liked the first Ninja movie and thought Scott Adkins, as always, proved his worth as a martial arts actor. There was just a small hint of 'meh' that surrounded the first causing it to be slightly forgettable. It seems though, with Shadow Of A Tear, that hint of 'meh' has been thrown to the side! Again, acting and story line plays second fiddle to what is possibly some of the best fight scenes ever put to film in a Western production! Beautifully shot, crisp with amazing choreography, I felt that Ninja: Shadow Of A Tear stands punches and kicks above the over-rated hit, The Raid...

good acting and fighting from scottt adkins and the fighting choreography but the schematics and story are a little out played avenging the person who killed your wife white guy in a traditional spiritual Japanese environment best friend betrayal all a little out played

Director of Undisputed 3 is back with Adkins. "NINJA II: SHADOW OF A TEAR is the kind of action movie I always want more of: a pretty simple story about a badass in a personal conflict, stubbornly entrenched in the distinct values of a warrior subculture, with some absurdity but no joking around, and designed to deliver a whole bunch of great fight scenes done by real martial artists with lots of long takes, the camera always carefully composed and steady, moving in ways that always emphasize action and never obscure it. In other words it's the long-awaited new Isaac Florentine/Scott Adkins joint." A solid revenge film.
