"Niagara" is a solid thriller, though not perfect. A few of the supporting players ham it up a bit and the film goes out of the way to include as many Niagara area attractions as possible. But there's no question why this movie launched Marilyn Monroe into stardom. Her performance is very good, not to mention the fact that theaters were most likely filled with the sounds of gasps every time she appeared on screen.

This is a damn good movie. On par with Vertigo -- not quite up to North By Northwest standards. Compelling, entertaining, and despite a little sexism (e.g., George: "That's quite a girl you married." Cutler: "She'll do for a while.") it actually holds up quite well.

For its day and age, this film was quite a ride. And I really enjoyed the different side of Marilyn Monroe. Very refreshing.

Marilyn is at her sleaziest and sexiest in this film - a real tramp. This film launched her to stardom and you can see why. However, I'm giving it a 4 instead of a 5 because it should end sooner than it does. You'll undertsand if you watch it.

I believe this is one Marilin's best..along with Joseph Cotten.Intense
