Dumped by her loser boyfriend, Erin's love life hits rock bottom when her overbearing mother places an embarrassing ad in the "personals" section of a local newspaper on her behalf. Erin's disgust turns to curiosity as she searches for the right guy in a hilarious series of disastrous dates. Meanwhile, a lonely ex-plumber named Alan clumsily searches for his dream job while narrowly missing one chance meeting with Erin after another.

While too many things about the story don't ring true for the film as a whole to work, there is enough in Next Stop Wonderland to keep the viewer wide awake and entertained.

I like this movie cos its got mass appeal it won't make your man cringe because of the sprinkling of chick flick drama. Love the style its been shot at and the blow fish theatrics :) Amazing soundtrack too. Hope Davis shines.

The style of the filmmaking, the freewheeling handheld camera movement, the associative editing, and the buoyant Brazilian score convey Anderson's sense that chance plays a major role in our lives and that what's happening on the periphery is often more important than what's staring us in the face.

A really underrated romcom. Intelligently written we follow Erin as she slowly emerges from the depression associated with the loss of her father while exposing the idiocy of the dating scene to finally fall headlong into the arms of a true heart. Wonderfully done.
