Some very beautiful moments in this movie but it is very raw and heartbreaking. People should go and see it.

Even before the opening credits it is tugging on the heartstrings as if Quasimodo were at the other end, and the fierce pressure on the tear ducts never lets up, which is why I found myself resisting.

It's a tough watch but a powerful one, and beautifully acted not just by Fox and Spall but by William and Matthew Stagg, as their young sons. Well done, boys.
