I just saw this, and it's now one of my all-time favorite movies. This is an amazing movie!

This film was wonderful because when Mrs.Palfrey came to the Claremont to live the rest of her life out she meets a young man who is in a bit of a struggle to find himself, so the friendship between the two of them grow to help the young man find what he needs in life and he helps her also. A great film I would recomend it.

A lovely, touching drama about a recently widowed old lady who befriends a young man. It's just a shame that they are so far apart in age as they seem perfect for each other!

A beautiful, quiet little film that definitely tugs at the heartstrings. Joan Plowright and Rupert Friend were marvelous as the unlikely friends who find joy and inspiration in each other's company. This viewer nearly wrote it off early on due to the overacting of the supporting cast, who populate the hotel. But once the main story got underway, this became a gem. Very moving tale as these two lonely people found joy and inspiration in sharing experiences and conversations.
