After several years in an insane asylum, Evelyn, the keeper of the Mountaintop Motel, is released and resumes doing business. She kills her young charge out of anger, but convinces the police it was an accident - and pushed into insanity, she then proceeds to target her guests, first by releasing vermin into their rooms, but then by using her trusty sickle.

Yeah, this isn't all that great. I remember seeing the VHS box art when I was a kid at the video store, but I never saw it until now... and I wasn't missing much. To be fair, I can see why it did well at the drive-in. Hardly anything happens throughout the whole movie so you don't have to follow it too closely - a good thing for horny teenagers on a Friday night. It's fun to watch these people try to act and to wait for some sort of plot to kick in, which doesn't happen for a very long time. To be succinct, most horror fans can probably just skip this one. There isn't all that much for the gorehounds or anyone else, really. It's a good concept for a horror movie that never delivers anything and is just so poorly executed that I'm surprised it's gotten the little bit of noteriety that it has.

Good Creation/Script but needs work pretty much it starts off good but than slowly get very dull also great tag line :D but the girl on the poster is not the one in the movie just saying but the main star dose appear on the French poster. The movie also has a creepy sound track and a possible sequel ... but as of now I would remake the main movie before attempting a sequel

This movie sucks.Some ugly,fat,norman bates-ish type bitch is killin people that check into her motel.Real original.This movie is bland and has no taste.All the death scenes blow goats.Fuck it.

Evelyn is a pretty disturbed lady that owns a motel. When she finds her daughter doing a satanic ritual in the basement she murders her and then comes up with a lame excuse to tell the sheriff. She then gets some people that come and stay at the motel. She tries to scare them by releasing rats, bugs etc in their rooms. When that doesn't work she then one by one starts to kill them. This is by no means a masterpiece but it still is rather decent. It has that creepiness that you would want it a horror movie and definatly the killing and blood. It even has creepy abd eerie music in it too which makes it more scary. Not a movie gem but still was creepy enough for me.
