This is an excellent movie, exposing the brutalities of the oppressive regime, emotional, insightful, brave. MUST SEE

This is a sad movie about the oppression of the Palestinian people living in there own land under Israel. It follows the life of a young Palestinian girl who grew up in an orphanage in Israel. It was able to keep me interested until the end, which was truly horrible. The ending was very flat and dry. I would recommend you see this on DVD.

Disjointed at times and maybe lacking an overall connecting thread this is still a beautiful film based on a true story, a film by a Jewish director giving a personal view into the plight of Palestinians via a small group of people from 1948 to 1987's Intifida and Oslo Peace Accords. A beautiful film with a different perspective worth a watch.

Schnabel seems cowed by his subject matter, and it doesn't help that Jebreal adapted her own book. There's no one to impose a shape on the film...

good film but the story lacks structure, and I'm not really convinced that it paints a true picture of life in Palestine/Israel.
