A zany satire that will leave you either mesmerised by its brilliance or just a little dazed by it's lunacy.

Vishal Bharadwaj who is mostly associated with engrossing serious action flicks , has to be commended for his effort in a genre not associated with his forte. Matru ki Bijlika Mandola is a mindless action packed comedy romantic movie that not only was refreshing to watch but entertainingly realistic enough to sarcastically potray our nation's socio-political situation. Pankaj Kapoor once again proves why he is most sought after actor in the industry and Matru ( Imran) joins in the camaraderie as drunkard wing man of Harry Mandola ( Pankaj) as he plots alongside villagers playing the most infamous commie Mao to give the villagers back, control of their land. I would love to see Anoushka in a different role though ..... there seems to be awful lot of repetitive pattern in her role choices. 3 for film & 1 for vishal's daring effort

Matru Ki Bijlie Ka Mandola has very little to offer but the film is good and tends to draw you in nicely. For the most part Pankaj Kapur has shown great acting and he also tends to lack in some scenes. But let's face it, M.K.B.K.M is a good movie not a great one but good. So 6/10 for one time watch and kind of worth for theatres.

Agreeably amusing but unduly extended, Matru ki Bijlee ka Mandola suggests what might have resulted had Rodgers and Hammerstein lived long enough to attempt a Broadway musical about the Occupy Wall Street movement.
