Marci X (2003)

Marci Feld, a pampered Jewish-American Princess, doesn't know about rap or the business world. But everything changes after rapper Dr. S releases a controversial CD for the hard-core hip-hop record label owned by Marci's father. After a national protest breaks out to boycott the new CD and the record label, her father is hospitalized by a heart attack. Marci decides to step in to save his reputation and the family business by taming the raunchy rapper's wild bad boy image.

Anybody who doesn't like this movie must be kind of slow and not getting the biting satire. I've noticed satirical movies generally get low ratings....didn't know America was full of such humorless people. The movie is an equal opportunity offender which shows the people who made the movie "get it" and are not being offensive, rather they are making fun of those who stereotype people. I'm going to recommend this movie, that like Lisa Schwarzbaum of "Entertainment Weekly" said should be savored for it's cult-ready collection of skits that it has.

When it first came out, I had absolutely low expectations, which is why it tickles my fancy so much. The parady of the music industry and certain celebs is so hilarious!!! Most notable scene is a boy band doing the gay song!!!

Marci X is the kind of terrible movie I'm almost glad I've seen, because this decade probably won't bring a worse movie than this.
