Map To The Stars is a dangerous and insane movie about the world of celebrities, the director David Cronenberg made a chronicle that exposes the real persons behind the stars, helped by a excellent cast and in a few moments a smart script.

This falls under "you think you're family is f**cked up?" If you like to see great actors act and watch how the various relationships unfold in, albeit a very twisted way, you have found your movie. Julianne Moore doesn't fail to impress fresh after who Oscar win. She's one of our most gifted actresses and her willingness to take on unflattering roles has me memorized. Interestingly her last movie "Still Alice" featured "Twilight" actress Kristen Stewart who showed us she actually could act. This one features Robert Pattinson who also redeems himself from the aforementioned movie. This is not a comfortable film but certainly is worth your time if only for the knockout performances and storyline.

Part Hollywood satire and part ghost story, throw in the films Mulholland Dr. and a dose of Sunset Boulevard and you wind up with Maps to the Stars. Odd characters, unpleasant dialogue, and a feeling of impending doom means this is just another David Cronenberg film that you have to acquire a taste for. I found myself unable to look away.

As he gets older, Cronenberg seems to be pulling further away from the fantastic and concentrating more on the monstrousness within humanity - and it's working. The clinical and observational - but never detached - direction lets the script and the sublime performances of the Moore and Wasikowska. The end result plays almost as great big "F___ you" to Paul Haggis for stealing the title of 'Crash' - with Cronenberg throwing in massive clichés every five minutes to make valid points rather than our of laziness, and coming to the conclusion that everything may well be connected, and just maybe that's not such a good thing.
