Aarr, Susan George's character was cringe worthy. Surprisingly though, her immaturity and sadness came through in one of the end scenes and I couldn't help but feel sorry for her. Visually beautiful scenes and the injustice just breaks your heart.

jaw droppingly INSANE. From the moment it starts, to the moment it ends, you're just agog with incredulity... INSANE.

If you ever wanted to see a man get shot twice, fall into a tub of boiling water, thrash around a bit, then be stabbed a couple of times with a pitchfork, this is the movie for you!! Seriously disturbing. As was slavery. But, shooot. That was twisted.

too trashy to be good drama, but too dramatic to be good trash

Monday, March 7, 2011 (1975) Mandingo DRAMA Somewhat of a pointless adaption of a novel written by Kyle Onstott centering on an African American boxer which to me serves as a backdrop upon everything else that was going on throughout this film! The time which takes place, right after the Civil War whereas the fighting was already been done and over with, but the degregation of African Americans living in the deep South were still allowed to continue! Music credited to actual African American blues artist Muddy Waters for some unknown bizarre reason! 2 out of 4
