This is a film that I had mixed opinions on. Having seen it, the missing pieces of the jigsaw have been put in place. A very well made film, based on his biography, was excellent . I'am glad I have seen it, and really enjoyed it. Go and see how wonderful a man he was.

superb film that tells the mandela story from a fresh perspective. Idris elba gives a career best performance not only defining what we already knew about about mandela but educating us too without preaching. One of the films of the year already.

Oh my gosh, what a magnificent movie!! It was intense, engaging, emotional, sad, and entertaining!! It will keep you on the edge of your seat the entire time!! It shows how incredible of a man Nelson Mandela was and what he had to go through to become such a powerful man!! This movie is over 2 hours long but you won't even tell!! That's how engaging it was!! Idris Elba was absolutely perfect as Nelson Mandela!! He captures Mandela's spirit so well and you feel his suffering when he goes to jail !! He even nails the accent to a T!! His performance was Oscar worthy!! Naomie Harris was amazing as well as Winnie Mandela!! You feel her passion!! Her performance was also Oscar worthy!! If you are a fan of Nelson Mandela, than you will not be disappointed!! If you don't care about history, than look elsewhere!! This is one of the greatest autobiography films of all-time!! This is absolutely a must-see!!

A deeply moving, very emotional and extremely powerful motion picture. An unforgettable and extraordinary movie that is packed with great character development, passion, heart and emotion all in a thrilling true story. It's a bold and unapologetic history lesson that digs deep and shows us things we were not aware of and make you respect Mandela more, and see more of his inner and political struggle. Idris Elba is absolutely magnificent, he gives one of the best performances of his career and truly one of the best performances by a male lead in 2013. Naomie Harris gives a remarkable and riveting performance, she truly shines in this role. Harris and Elba give fantastic dedication to their roles. A breathtaking triumph. A movie that is gorgeously crafted and also shakes and moves you.

Great movie! A well told story about the man, the life and the fight to free South Africa. So glad I finally made it before it stops playing. It's already stopped at most theatres.
