I'm always happy to see actors of color in film, but even more so I am happy to see them in good films.

If you can handle the idea of numerous sections of subtitled dialogue, then Man from Reno is right up your fog-drenched alley. This is the noir film I've been waiting for.

Ayako Fujitani is great as the Christie-esque detective novel author who "disappears", much to the fascination of the Japanese media, only to find herself involved in a real-life mystery involving the smuggling of exotic turtles. San Fransciso noir at its best.
