This is another lesser-known Disney film that is filled with great moments, including an animated version of Prokofiev's "Peter and the Wolf" and an original Disney short called "The Whale Who Wanted to Sing at the Met", which is pure Disney enjoyment. However, the film tries to imitate "Fantasia", but it is overall quite amusing.

Not much to say here except that it continues to drag on the package film era of Disney. This film includes 10 segments in a span of 76 minutes which might have been the first sign that it was going to be an unsatisfying film. With some pretty mediocre animation and lazy stories, you can tell the Disney artists were still very understaffed here. Some of the films had some creative promise but not much more. Overall, it's an interesting look at the culture of 1940s America (Casey at Bat) but the songs are definitely dated and most of the segments exceedingly boring. Also, minus points for some pretty insensitive quips about women.

Made after Fantasia but you really wouldn't think it from the qaulity. This is like Fantasia's little brother that wants to prove himself but tries to hard. The animation lacks the quality of the two Fantasia films but it also doesn't have as interesting music pieces either. Overall Make Mine Music is an extremely forgettable film and I am sure that most of you are wondering right now what this movie even is. I hadn't heard about it until I saw it on the list of classics and I will simply tell you that there is a good reason that it has never ben mentioned nor seen. Pretty much it is a cheap Fantasia, nothing but musical numbers along with animated shorts. The animation is not without a little bit of cleverness and originality but it is so sub par that it feels like it was half assed and rushed. The music also feels very dated and the audio does not come off as being well recorded. My advice? Skip this one, but I'm sure you would've done that anyways. In fact, you would have never known it existed had I not mentioned it.

It will never be able to match the beauty that was Fantasia but this Movie with its creative choices should not be skipped.

This is a classic. As a child I watched it over and over again. I love the music, great reflection of its time.
