There wasn't enough the go on. The performances were unsettling and disturbing, but there was no explanation as to why the girl was so unnerved. I felt like I watched 85 minutes only to have the last 15 minutes be missing from the film; it was like it was unfinished. There were no answers given, and while I appreciate some movies that "leave it up to the audience interpretation", I felt that this one needed to be explained.

Despite a great performance from the cast, the film is a slow psychological thriller film that builds up boringly to an upsetting, loud, and unsettling questionable climax [C-]

Silva's skill is allowing us to experience everything through the point of view of his protagonist, although things become tedious in the final reel

The by-the-numbers plotting is a little clunky but there's fun to be had in the cast's easy chemistry.

Magic Magic is skewered on the horns of a dilemma, uncertain whether it's a horror film or a psychological drama -- and it doesn't work especially well as either.
