This film is literally everything i like in a film. Blood, Gore, Epic Showdowns, Sword/Machete fights, Spoof Humor, Topless chicks and an undefeatable old Mexican Dude. Seriously, this film is F*cking Genius Undeniably one of the greatest films of all time.

At this point, I can't tell if Robert Rodriguez ("Grindhouse," "Sin City"), co-directing with editor Ethan Maniquis, is spoofing grade-Z, 1970s-era, drive-in trash or if that is all he can make, outside of "Spy Kids" films.

Flaw: no 80s Grindhouse effect after the intro

The winner for the best summer movie of 2010 is...Machete! However, I did not come to this decision lightly. It was too close to call between this movie & Stallone's action movie, The Expendables. They were the best movies of the summer season. This movie is Robert Rodriguez's best work since From Dusk til Dawn & El Marachi trilogy. It's the mexican equivalent of the classic 1970's blaxpoitation film, Shaft. The action scenes were absolutely fantastic and filled with blood, guts, gore & lots of severed body parts. Also, it was very comical at the same time. All the actors in the movie gave great performances. If you truly want solid entertainment & you're a big fan of action films or classic exploitation movies of the 1970s, then I would highly recommend you see this movie asap at your nearest theater.
