Starring Merle Oberon as the title character Lydia revaluating her love life which includes former flames, hosted and set up by family doctor, Mike (Joseph Cotton).

While in exile during WWII, Julien Duvivier directed this sentimnetal romantic melodrama, starring Merle Oberon, a remake of a better French film of 1937.

Lydia is an excellent film. It is about Lydia MacMillan, a wealthy old woman who has never married, who is invited by an old beau, Dr. Michael Fitzpatrick, for a reunion with the men who have been in her life to reminisce. Merle Oberon and Joseph Cotten give terrific performances. The screenplay is well written. Julien Duvivier did a great job directing this movie. I enjoyed this movie because of the romance. Lydia is a must see.
