Loving Leah (2009)

When Leah's husband Benjamin dies suddenly, Benjamin's brother Jake is stunned to learn he is expected to marry the childless Leah to carry on his brother's name. Jake suggests to Leah that they get married and maintain a secretly platonic relationship. The harder they try to disguise their "pretend" marriage, the more their appreciation for each other's worlds grow, and out of understanding, a real love develops.

Just LOVE this girl's sparkling eyes and the great smile, not along her courage and curiosity toward the outside world. Life is an adventure and dare the unknow!!

Lovely movie giving an insight into jewish practises. It is a sweet love story of the common theme of convenience marriage turns into love. And explores the differences between conservative jewish practises and more liberal Jewish practises. The movie has no swearing, and didn't show disrespect to God or Jewish practises throughout.

Typical Hallmark cutesy movie. When his Rabbi brother dies, Jake must renounce his brother so he does not have to marry his widow (Lauren Ambrose). Jake cannot go through with renouncing his brother, so he lands up in a marriage of convenience with Leah. Well, you can see where this is going. I found Lauren miscast as Leah. She is not mousy enough and doesn't look very Jewish to me. As cutesy and predictable as the movie is, I still give it 3 *'s for its entertainment value.
