There's nothing clear-cut about Sarah and Mindy's feelings for one another and Lovesong conveys the complexity of their emotions with tenderness and restraint.

Lovesong makes a virtue of restraint as it traces a complex emotional history in two parts, and innumerable (and sometimes quite literal) shades of gray.

Formulaic and thinly plotted, but reminds us that men suck, so the out-of-touch PC critics will fawn all over it and audiences will hate it.

Very good chemistry between the actresses, that's helpful due to the fact that their characters never felt convincing. Riley Keough and Jena Malone are solid in the indie arena, but this movie didn't make a big impression on me, but it was ok.

I felt story went nowhere. Even though the actresses were beautiful and lovely to watch it really did feel like watching paint dry. It was very flat and I had no emotional connection to any of the people in this movie. It felt so timid that I was about ready to jump out of my skin. I was wishing something would happen. It did not have any. It was a bore. It needed a little space and it had absolutely none.
