Lover (1992)

Marie lives with Antoine, but while he is away she meets Paul, a filmmaker visiting from Canada. Paul is instantly smitten and wants her to marry him. She puts him off by saying that she and Antoine have decided to have a baby. When Antoine returns, he becomes vividly jealous of his girlfriend's chaste encounter, which provokes her into having an affair with Paul.

One of the first romantic movies I ever saw as a young woman. I attribute this movie to my own expectations of romance. I read somewhere that they really did make love on set :)

A sensual, yet intense film....coupled with gorgeous musical soundrack (track #13 is sensuous!).....I finally had the opportunity to see it on DVD within the last 2-3 years and fell in love with the story.....its one of those films that you have to watch wearing satiny loungewear and sipping a favorite glass of wine.....best to watch it in the very late afternoon or at night....

i saw this movie when i was 13 and i cried for hours and hours after it ended. by saying that, i guess what i felt of this movie was pretty much self-explanatory.

I saw it beacuse I was curious about Tony Leung's acting in this movie. Unexpectedly, the story itself is beautiful. Tony Leung really captured and diplayed the complicated feelings of the character with subtle facial expressions and discrete body movements. The girl in the movie is too young and innocent, it is sad thing that she realized it is love only at the end of the story, when it is over. But somehow she chosed to let it end at the very beginning ...
