I liked this movie a lot. I would rate it a 10, but I didn't like the movie's conclusion. I don't like that it didn't show what would happen with them next. I would have been satisfied if he had finally told her that he loved her for real. But the movie was awsome otherwise. And Adrien Brody was sexy!

I love this movie. Nice girl falls for a bad boy who doesn't think twice about her. (how realistic is THAT?) Their relationship meant everything to her and we watch her fall apart. He finally realizes that he loves her after she stops caring about herself and goes down a very dark path. The scam is interesting too - but I don't want to give it all away. A gritty side of New York is shown, the acting is realistic, and the supporting cast is excellent. I especially like August Diehl's performance, and Pam Grier is always fantastic.

Adrien Brody's nose (and amazingly feminine first name, i just realized that.. huh.) this movie was really decent. (lite emphasize on 'really', kids) This Charlotte chick's performance was really demanding emotionally and physically; i was impressed. even if i didn't agree with her character's actions (which i didn't) and even if i didn't feel inclined to feel sympathy for her character's constant pain and self inflicted heartache (which i didn't... although i don't think i was really supposed to) her performance was very good and undermentioned. I've seen better, but this one had it's moments.

Obsessive love in a really disturbing way. Though I really cannot fathom the actions of the characters, I guess it gives an insight into a mind I cannot comprehend. It is a difficult movie to watch but you wouldn't be able to look away.

Adrien Brody completists will appreciate Love the Hard Way, if only as an example of the kind of self-conscious, brat-noir projects their man probably won't be doing anymore.
