Love and Monsters (2021)

A warm sea, hot sun, a burning beauty in a police uniform and a bottle of wine are all that Yura Skvortsov needs to be happy, who has come to the resort to heal his mental wounds. Of course, there is a low season at any resort. But only here, in Bulgaria, it comes literally. First, the English dog disappears, then the lion, and then the already few tourists disappear altogether. Yura will have to defend his right to live and love in a fierce battle with unknown monsters that threaten all living things. Fortunately, the invincible monsters have one weak point: alcohol is poison for them. Now, in order to survive and defeat the unknown evil, the heroes will have to drink without getting dry.

Pretty generic post apocalyptic fare but the beating heart of love that clearly went into this project shines through anything mediocre.

Excellent CGI. The monsters are superbly horrible. The story is not so superb. Basic soppy Disney but whatever. The lead is the well worn Woody Allen archetype , the idiot abroad character who wins in the end, he's OK. There's an extremely annoying little girl in it for some reason. The critics love her which is baffling since she is as appealing as nails on chalk. The dog is easily the best actor in the whole thing. Not bad overall, will appeal to teens girls mostly.

Before watching this I thought it was just gonna be a cringe fest, However, after watching it, it's the complete opposite tho made my sister even more afraid of insects

Give Love And Monsters credit: If nothing else, it does at least come up with a new (albeit ludicrous) twist on the killer-asteroid premise that once fueled two dumb disaster movies in the same year.
