It took me until the film's finale to figure out what I didn't like about loudQuietloud. We see a montage of footage from Pixies' younger days, and I realized the lack of this throughout the film makes the band's place in history lose a lot of context. If you're a fan you'll like it, but there isn't much insight in the picture. There are several interesting setpieces, true, and the music is still amazing, but it feels incomplete. And, for the love of God, there's no "the" in the band's name. Sheesh.

This putative concert documentary, a category of films I generally detest, is a beautiful, bittersweet commentary on second chances, friendships, hope and redemption. These four musicians are human, humane and compelling.

I saw this at the Vancouver Film festival last year and was very entertained... apparently the band didnt totally agree with the director's characterizations... yeah for drama

Kim Deal is a sweetheart. Didn't need to see Charles with his shirt off though. Strangely made me feel a little guilty about seeing them on the 2004 tour.
