Trading the earlier film’s goofy fish-out-of-water gags for robust action acrobatics and fail-safe family drama, the laffer induces the warm-and-fuzzies as an ode to Hong Kong cinema and its role in mainland Gen-Xers’ sentimental coming of age.

Boon Chan 23 May 2016

Apart from letting audiences play spot-the-Wong-Kar-Wai-reference, the movie also puts viewers in the mood for Cantopop.

Laughed through out the whole movie! A referenced heaven movie but still enjoyable as heck!

Maria A 27 May 2016

A movie that is surprisingly fun and balances very silly humor with genuine sentimentality and sweetness.

Edmund Lee 01 Apr 2016

A full-on homage to the best of Hong Kong pop culture from the 1980s and '90s.
