6/10: Based on Luc Besson's original idea, as a sci-fi fan, the story is great, effects are well done (except the chase scene in the beginning), it's overall good late night entertainment. Suitable for people who can switch off and enjoy a bit of brainless fun.

Don't take this film to seriously and it becomes one of the most entertaining films of the year between the action and Guy Pearce's continuos one-liners.

This is not supposed to be a good movie. It is supposed to be a fun movie. And Guy Pearce delivers big time as the anti-hero (humor and all) stuck between the bad guys and the government trying to save the hostages. Similar to an 80s action film but upgraded with better visuals, story, and chock full of one-liners. You can't help but caught up in Snow's character and the 95 minutes will fly by.

This was fun as it was exactly as advertised with some nice action. Nothing that memorable and the plot doesn't make that much sense but it was certainly fun while it lasted. Guy Pierce does a surprisingly fantastic job as an incredibly sarcastic action hero even though I'm not sure he has ever been asked to take on a role like this. Unfortunately they kept it PG-13 when it would have been better to just go all out. Clearly worth a watch if you like sci-fi thrillers.
