Lepke (1975)

Lepke is the feared leader of "Murder Incorporated" in this underworld drama based on the life of Louis "Lepke" Buchalter. Lepke began his criminal career as a petty thief in his teens; a stretch in prison taught him the finer points of life on the wrong side of the law. After getting out of jail, Lepke and his pal Gurrah Shapiro join a gang who hire themselves out as strikebreakers, and the vicious but clever Lepke soon rises through the ranks.

this has officialy became one of my favourite movies of all time im a huge fan of movies like this based on gangsters of the 30s/40's especially ones like lepke and al capone etc i thought the story was great and was good to see that they done it so it actually portrayed what happened and they didnt make it so it suited hollywood i thought tony curtis was outstanding in this movie, but then again he always is he is an outstanding actor and a true legen

Tony Curtis gives one of his best performances in this violent, overlooked underworld drama about the famed Jewish gangster. A really good movie that suffered from poor distribution.

Hey, I had to request to get this on here. How many others will I have to do that to? Anyway, in the wake of the Godfather there were tons of Mafia flicks starring everyone and his brother. This one is interesting because it has Tony Curtis and Milton Berle in it and because it was directed by Menahem Golan, who would later help form Cannon films. This thing is almost a template for most of the product they would eventually produce.
