"Christan Bale and Kate Beckansale deliver a wonderful delight" I really enjoyed this movie. This one of Christan Bale's first and best films. Its about alot of things like affairs, relationships, mother and son, and rockers who do anything for sex. Its a big drama that anyone can enjoy. Watch this movie because it delivers more than you'd think.

Ultimately lacks the narrative muscle that could have made it great. But it does have McDormand, who is great in this, her best showcase since "Fargo."

I really like films that can appear to happen in everyday life. Laurel Canyon is just that and I really enjoyed this movie. Christian Bale is a fantastic actor and Kate Beckinsale is lovely =D

Superb cast (even Kate Beckinsale had her moments)(no, really - the "he thought I was a nazi" "How ironic... and upsetting" dialogue was pure gold), great writing, amazing soundtrack. I love this movie to bits.

Christian Bale's character comes to an interesting realization in the end. You kind of have to figure it out for yourself though.
