Last Men in Aleppo (2017)

A searing example of boots-on-the-ground reportage follows the efforts of the internationally recognized White Helmets, an organization consisting of ordinary citizens who are the first to rush towards military strikes and attacks in the hope of saving lives. Incorporating moments of both heart-pounding suspense and improbable beauty, the documentary draws us into the lives of three of its founders — Khaled, Subhi, and Mahmoud — as they grapple with the chaos around them and struggle with an ever-present dilemma: do they flee or stay and fight for their country?

If you've seen other documentaries about [Syria] and its war in the past, I don't think Last Men in Aleppo will provide you with more insight.

May not be the most comprehensively explanatory or analytical film yet made on the war, but it’s the one that provides viewers with the most sensorily vivid and empathetic sense yet of how it feels to live (and die) through the carnage.

Overall, the “you are there” footage lends the film a more journalistic than artistic tone, yet the emotional effect is intimate and unforgettably gripping.

White Helmets are nothing more than western financed propaganda tools and terrorists. They are behind the chemical attacks in Syria that serve has an orchestrated excuse to US intervention through tomahawk missiles. Therefore this movie is nothing more than propaganda. For information search for a real reporter actually in Syria right now that is not on rebel areas, which should be called terrorists areas, Eva Bartlett. Canadian Journalist.
