Las acacias (2011)

Rubén is a middle-aged Argentinian truck driver transporting timber between Paraguay and Buenos Aires. One day, at a truck stop, he picks up a young Paraguayan woman, Jacinta, whom his employer had told to take to Buenos Aires. To Rubén's surprise, Jacinta brings along her five-month-old daughter, Anahí.

A wonderful film about a truck driver who strikes up a friendship with an unwanted passenger & her baby. Beautifully shot and often does more in unspoken scenes with the characters body language & facial expressions than most do with pages of script. Heartwarming & quite wonderful.

The filmmakers have managed the near-miraculous feat of creating two characters who aren't larger-than-life or quirky or anything other than what you and I might be in their place.

Little actually happens on this tender road trip except for the development of a tender human relationship. The story is raw, but not bleak and it's a cleverly solemn people watching movie.

This movie definitely should've been an Oscar-Winning Contender. Yes there's barely any speaking in the movie but actions show more than words especially in cases like these. It's a nice ride and prefer it to many hispanics family across the world.

Algunas pelÃculas ignoro la razÃ³n por la cual ganan premios, esta es una de ellas, la historia de el viaje de una inmigrante paraguaya hacia argentina a bordo de un camiÃ³n de transporte junto a su pequeÃ±a hija, no pasa nada relevante ni hay nada interesante, solo que se enamoran al final del camino, totalmente aburrida para mi
