I feel that Priyadarshan has lost his sense of humor. He took the king of comedy title away from David Dhawan and now he has no idea what to do and how to make us laugh. In this movie he didnt even try. The concept of the story is unusual but then its same as any other political movie. Although this is not a fully political movie. Akshay Kumar is funny at some parts and some parts he seems loud and tries hard to look sincere. Trisha, super hit actress from Tamil is very pretty and ok as a Bollywood actress. You cant really judge her from this movie. She plays a key role but doesnt seem so. Songs are ok. Overall i didnt enjoy this movie at all. This movie comedian like Rajpal Yadav and Johny Lever and still fails to make audience laugh. I say Skip it.

[Khatta] is a muddled Bollywood attempt at satire on the hardships faced by the common man in order to progress in modern India.

Priyadarshan needs to look around before conceptualizing a story for his movies... and what does Akshay thinking when he signed it... come on guys, you have a reputation... live up to it..

I actually really liked this film. An interesting political satire that, granted, wasn't funny throughout but kept me gripped with its witty humour and underplayed drama. The protagonist was a fantastic David Brent-esque figure of a pitiable, simple road contractor who fought against those in power. Really nicely shot, all apart from a blurry cut-out elephant.
