Kabluey (2007)

Leslie is left with few options when her husband is sent back to war in the Middle East. A modest amount of help arrives in the form of his brother, Salman, who is less than prepared to care for the couple's two preadolescent boys. When Leslie still can't make ends meet on her own, Salman is forced to find employment, but, with minimal qualifications, his only option is to become a mascot for a digital company by donning a bulbous blue costume.

Depression has never been this funny! A looser triumph!

Pretty good little film with nice performances by both Lisa Kudrow and Scott Prendergast. Not perfect, though, as it failed to explain the reasoning behind sending a man to hand out flyers in the middle of a desert road where only cars drive by every once in a blue moon other than the fact that it's funny, I guess. And the jerk off boss only existed as a plot element, but hey. I liked it anyway.

A mordant, almost-too-dark comedy, but a comedy nonetheless.

It was really quirky, but I really like it. It was funny. Really out there

I loved this little indie. Kabluey is the cure for the common summer DUD. This little gem will probably NOT make it to a theater near you (if it does SEE IT) but it will be on DVD in September so check it out. Scott Pendergast is really something as a mascot donning near do well who helps his sister in-law (a superb Lisa Kudrow) cope with her two crazy children (worst movie kids since the Omen) during the extended absence of her Marine husband who is stationed in Iraq. This is a charming little movie that kicks Journey To The Center Of The Earths' ASS!
