Junior (1994)

A research scientist becomes the world's first pregnant man in order to test a drug he and a colleague have designed for expectant women. To carry out the trial, he has an embryo implant, believing that he will only carry the baby for three months – hardly expecting to face the prospect of giving birth.

A lot of actors can hold big machineguns and stand convincingly in front of special effects and explosions. Not many can stand in front of a camera and be nine months pregnant, and actually make us care.

This movie is one of the greatest creations that man has ever conceived (like the baby!!) The humour is immaculate and more amazing than the best godsent tree on the Earth. Oh boy this movie is livechanging! Ive never been the same since. My entire worldview instantly changed right when my eyes landed on the impregnanted belly of Mr Hesse. My eyes popped when his belly popped and my eyes weeped when his water broke! This movie could not have even been created by human hands for the content is much to perfect a product to have any error.

Junior is passable entertainment, but it could hardly be called fully developed.

Mick LaSalle 29 Dec 2004

As a comedy, Junior has its share of laughs -- but no more than its share.

Peter Travers 05 Apr 1997

Ah-nuld’s swollen belly is the joke — the only one — but director Ivan Reitman (Dave) takes it for a few deft spins.
