It's My Party (1996)

Nick, a gay, HIV-positive architect, begins to display severe symptoms of AIDS and makes preparations to kill himself before he is unable to function normally. He arranges a party to reconnect and say goodbye to his closest friends and his confused parents. But when his ex-partner, Brandon, a television director who left Nick when he was diagnosed with HIV, shows up, what was supposed to be a celebratory event becomes much more difficult for everyone.

You will need a crate of tissues while watching this emotion filled story of one mans way of completing his life

ONE OF MY FAVORITES MOVIES... probably because after watching it now four or five times, it has not failed one single time to make me teary eyed but at the same time fills me with a sense of fulfillment and joy. I understand my beliefs are different from those of others, but for me this movie represents making the most out of our life, knowing when it's time to go, and to allow ourselves to let go on our own terms. All the flashbacks in the movie remind me that even death is really a party where we can choose to celebrate all our happy memories or to mourn all the bad ones. Given the choice, I rather have a party!

a must see.....unfortunately this film isnt very well known. its about a gay man,who in his final days,decides to throw a party to say goodbye to all his loved ones. Although the films ending is unfortunately predictable. the acting and emotion is fabulous, a real tearjerker and remarkable movie.
