My favorite movie. Deanna Durbin is the custest thng and what a voice. Just loved Charles Laughton in this, he was great.

AS WITH ALL OF DEANNA DURBIN FILS, THIS IS ANOTHER WONDERFUL MOVIE SIMPLY DUE TO HAVING DEANNA IN THE FILM, HER ACTING AND HER SINGING AS ALWAYS IS STUNNING, THE BEAUTIFUL DEANNA ALWAYS MADE WONDERFUL FILMS EVEN WHEN DUE TO NO FAULT OF HER OWN, THE SCRIPTS WERE SOMEWHAT LACK LUSTRE. IF YOU HAVE NEVER WATCHED A DEANNA DURBIN FILM I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THAT YOU DO, SIMPLY BECAUSE DEANNA ALWAYS SPARKLES IN WHICHEVER ROLE SHE PLAYS AND MAKES YOU SMILE...

I love this one to pieces. Charles Laughton is hysterical as the old guy who doesn't die after all! And it wouldn't be a Deanna Durbin film without her beautiful singing.

Little known, but very entertaining movie. A guy must find a girl to be his girlfriend and meet his father before he dies. But everything falls apart when his father lives!

I love Deanna Durbin movies. Her movies were lighthearted frolics from the 1930's and 40's, calculated to snag you with her singing and cheerful demeanor. Her contagious joyfulness at singing leaps beyond the bounds of the camera and the years that have passed since this movie was made. '100 Men and a Girl' is another favourite of mine, and I love anything she did in her movies with the conductor Leopold Stokowski.
