inspector gadget's biggest caper ever is a cold refreshing relaxed movie the cgi is not bad for it's time however the writing is......Okay so to me it's a cool movie

At times unbearable. I did like the Benny Hill homage and some funny lines, but as a huge Inspector Gadget fan this one was a letdown. Makes u realize how hard it is to get animation right and never take it for granted.

This movie was an (almost) feature length CGI movie based on the original Inspector Gadget cartoon from way back in the 80s. It was definitely an update from the original cartoon, what with the CGI and what not, but it didn't quite capture the magic that the original animated series had. They did a good job with sticking true to the premise of the original series with Inspector Gadget being a bumbling cop who always lucks in to his collars. Gadget, Penny, Brain, Chief Quimby and Dr. Claw were all in the movie and their CGI upgrades looked good on them. The story was good enough, but I think they could have done a bit more with it, it seemed to drag in a few spots. Still a good flick for what it is but not as good as the cartoon series.
